How to get a funding?

Organizations:

There are many companies supporting young artists on the way of their development. Here is to mention few: On the Move - Cultural Mobility Information Network; Culture360 Grant Opportunities; Guide to Funding Opportunities for the International Mobility of Artists and Culture Professionals in Europe; Performing Arts Alliance; WomenArts - Funding resources; Arts Network Asia (ANA) and many others.

Search for the existing scholarships in these organizations and apply for them. Alternatively, write a "Letter for Fundraising", where state your motivation, all possible expenditures for travel, accommodation, program fee, and send it to the local arts organizations, arts councils or company that do sponsoring.

The more the better, try to apply for many scholarships, it is a higher possibility that you will get a funding.

Universities:

You can ask for the scholarship in the place of your study, at the university, college or other. Often there is a variety of opportunities. Consult your financial assistance offices for grants and scholarships on campus for international research. Frequently, there are allocated funding for the promotion of students studying abroad or in art. Sometimes there are special minority grants for performing arts development etc.

Clubs and gather of donations

There are often women's clubs of different types, music clubs, choral groups, etc. Contact them personally - by phone or in person. This is the best way to get their attention. Sometimes there are formal applications for scholarships, sometimes one member who will take you as your personal investment, sometimes you will simply be invited to make a performance on their meetings and they will make some donations. Study all possible clubs and organizations in your community and in your native cities. Ask your friends and relatives about offers.

If you or someone you know participates in a local church, temple or other place of worship, ask if you can hold a small concert for them to raise some money (perhaps with several other people going to the IUGTE). Ask if they have a scholarship for young students/artists, you can also ask if there is a theater society that is part of the church, temple, to whom you can contact about possible scholarships, donations, concerts or opportunities.

There are many opportunities in such clubs, and if you refer to them as a person or group, do not forget to be polite and professional.

Family, Friends and other important people

Be open, feel free to ask for support. You ask for something very important for you, for your family and for you community, many people would really want to help you in your pass of professional development. If they couldn't give you money, they probably could spread a word for you to their friends, their friends to their friends, to members of special organization, club or church that could help.

Ask somebody like your professor, teacher or guru about fundraising ideas. Are they belonging to some societies, alliances or organizations to whom you could write and ask for financial support for travel to study theatre and performing arts abroad?

Your employer or representatives of local business company could also give you a scholarship for working on a special project for them. It can be short-term job or the development of a performance production on the certain topic that you will study at IUGTE.
